PET-Radiochemistry.org aims to provide all relevant information on Positron Emission Tomography for chemists, biologists, medics and other individuals involved with PET. Currently this site hosts a searchable tracer database (still being extended), links to further resources, relevant documents and publications as well as a job database.
The site is still under development and new features and content is being added on a regular basis. The following features are currently being considered: Event calendar, books, and a supplier database. You can help us by suggesting features that you would like to see on here and reporting any bugs you come across. You need to have an account with us to be able to contribute.
Toluene derivatives are often found in drug-like molecules, and are therefore desirable as radiolabelled moieties. The desire for an alternate to the Stille coupling led us to investigate the feasibility of the Suzuki coupling. We have found the Suzuki coupling route to be a robust alternative to the Stille coupling for the synthesis of functionalized [11C]toluene derivatives from [11C]methyl iodide. The avoidance of potentially toxic tin-containing by-products is an added advantage.
